Direceipt
In development

The receipts are in your inbox. The gap is in your books.

Direceipt connects your QuickBooks Online company to the mailboxes you authorize, finds purchases with no receipt attached, locates the matching receipt in your email, and attaches it to the transaction — once a person approves the match.

Direceipt is built for Canadian small businesses and the bookkeepers who work with them. It is in active development and not yet open to the public.

How it works

Four steps, and a person decides the one that matters.

1

Connect QuickBooks

Authorize once. Direceipt reads your purchases and the files already attached to them. It never creates, edits, or deletes a transaction.

2

Find what's missing

Every purchase is checked against your chart of accounts. An expense coded to Office Supplies needs a receipt; an owner's draw does not.

3

Search your email

For each transaction missing a receipt, Direceipt searches a narrow date window around it for the merchant. It does not index your mailbox.

4

You approve, it attaches

Each candidate is shown with the reason it matched. Nothing is attached to your books until a person says yes.

Your data

QuickBooks stays the system of record

Direceipt reads your transactions and attaches approved receipts to them. It never creates, edits, re-categorizes, or deletes an accounting record.

Email access is read-only and driven by your books

Direceipt requests read-only access to the mailboxes you connect. It never sends, modifies, labels, or deletes mail. Searches are bounded by a transaction's date and merchant — the accounting data decides what is looked for, not the mailbox.

  • No copy or index of your mailbox is kept.
  • Messages unrelated to an identified receipt are not stored.
  • Contacts, calendar, and other Google services are never accessed.

A person decides every match

Confidence is shown, never hidden. Each candidate arrives with the reasons it matched — amount, date proximity, merchant — so a reviewer can judge it rather than trust a score.

Separation between customers

Each organization's records are isolated in the database itself, enforced independently of the application, so one customer cannot reach another's data even if application code is wrong.

Direceipt's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Full detail is in the privacy policy.
